Project Location

Bridge #238 carries Lakeshore Drive East over Carmel Creek, located approximately 0.3 miles south of 106th Street just east of Keystone Pkwy.

Project Scope

The proposed scope of work includes widening the bridge to accommodate a new sidewalk on the east side, along with replacing the existing bridge deck and adjacent prestressed concrete box beams with a continuous reinforced concrete slab.  The existing railing on the bridge will be replaced with a new railing system that meets current design standards, and new reinforced concrete approach slabs will be added to each end of the bridge.  The existing piers will be repaired and riprap will be placed for scour protection.

Reason for Project

Reconstruction of the structure is necessary due to structural deterioration and inadequate roadway width.
