Hoosier Heritage Port Authority

The Hoosier Heritage Port Authority was formed in 1994-1995 to purchase 37 miles of railroad running from Tipton to downtown Indianapolis. The Port Authority represents Fishers, Noblesville, and Hamilton County; it provides oversight and maintenance of the line.  The Port Authority built the new depot and platform in Fishers, and has designated the Indiana Transportation Museum as the current operator for the line. Meetings are held quarterly; please contact the following for more information:

The Indiana Transportation Museum

The Indiana Transportation Museum is a volunteer run, nonprofit organization whose mission is to preserve Indiana's railroad history, educate the public in the history of the railroad, and provide visitors with an opportunity to experience railroad travel as it used to be. Our Museum and restoration facilities are located in Forest Park in Noblesville, Indiana (20 miles north of downtown Indianapolis). More than 30,000 passengers each year enjoy their historic rail excursions. For more information, please visit the Indiana Transportation Museum website.
