05/18/17: 256th Street between Cal Carson Road and Salem Road is now closed for a small structure replacement. Delayed by weather, the closure will remain in place until July 1st.
This structure is located on 256th Street between Anthony Road and Cal Carson Road in Jackson Township.
Reason for Project
Existing structure is a reinforced concrete slab (RCS) with asphalt overlay. Deterioration has occurred at various locations along the coping and abutment. Longitudinal cracking has developed resulting in water leaching into the concrete deck.
The proposed design will widen the roadway and structure to 2 12-foot lanes and minimum 4-foot shoulder. New structure will be able to accommodate a Q100 flood event.
