The Volunteer Satellite communications team is responsible for the deployment, operation and maintenance of the HCEM Satellite Communication capabilities. It consists of portable, mobile and command center units that leverage Geostationary Satellites for Internet Data and Voice communications. Members of the team require an understanding of Satellite hardware operating principles, Voice over IP technology and networking skills.

Joe has 30 years of experience in Information Technology, Telecommunications and Physical Alarm Security services. His background includes working with Alarm Center datacenters and communicating with Emergency Operations Centers globally like our Hamilton County 911 center. He is excited to build out this new aspect of RACES and Hamilton County Emergency Operations.
