Applications, Permits, Policies, & Standards

Permits are required by the Hamilton County Highway Department whenever working in county right of ways or on any county roads. Failing to obtain a permit will constitute a violation from the Highway Department with a fine of up to $2500 per day per violation. In addition, a violation inspection fee of $100 may be assessed per violation per day.

Hamilton County Construction Standards

The Hamilton County construction standards and specifications, as published by the Highway Department, must be met, and construction plans must be approved prior to the beginning of work. For acceptance by the Highway Department, permit applications should be printed on legal size (8.5 inch by 14 inch) paper.
