Purpose
The Hamilton County Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs is dedicated to preventing and reducing underage drinking and illegal drug use in Hamilton County.
Resource Handouts
The Council maintains a library information center of handouts relating to alcohol and other drugs. These are distributed free of charge to the public through street fairs, festivals, the County Fair and events in Hamilton County which the Council supports. The Council also provides speakers for events on the topics of alcohol and drugs, How to talk to your children about drugs, resistance skills, etc.
Council Funding
The Council funds activities in 3 broad areas:
- Prevention and education
- Intervention and treatment
- Criminal Justice
Agencies and individuals can apply to the Council for funding of programs which are geared to any of these areas.
The Council, itself, puts on several large events each year for which many volunteers are needed.
