General Description: The Hamilton County Court Assisted Rehabilitative Efforts (C.A.R.E.) Program exists to assist clients who are active with the Court for alcohol or other drug-related offenses in being referred to appropriate education or treatment. The Program has been designated a fully certified Court Alcohol and Drug Program through the Indiana Office of Court Services. Currently, the Program employs six staff members who are not only certified probation officers, but are also certified by the State of Indiana to perform substance abuse assessments and subsequently make referrals to appropriate services.
The C.A.R.E. Program does not provide education or treatment on site; all clients are referred to DMHA approved education providers or treatment facilities based upon location, financial ability and need.
Clients are responsible for the cost of any additional education or treatment that is recommended.
VICTIM IMPACT PANEL:
If you were ordered by the Hamilton County Courts or requested by your Probation Officer to attend the Victim Impact Panel, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) has opportunities for virtual and in person panels. To participate in MADD’s online panel you must use a device with an active camera. If you would like to schedule with MADD contact Pam Kelshaw at 1-800-426-6233. We are also accepting the Online MADD Victim Impact panel through https://online.maddvip.org/.
If you wish to participate in a Victim Impact Panel other than the MADD panel, please contact your Probation Officer for prior approval. You will be responsible for obtaining a certificate of completion of any panel and sending that to the Probation Department.
