[ARCHIVED] Fishers Schedules SR 37 Project Meeting to Update Residents

The original item was published from July 20, 2016 3:06 PM to September 8, 2016 12:22 PM

Homeowners and residents of neighborhoods along the State Road 37 corridor in eastern Hamilton County are invited to a project update meeting scheduled for July 27.

The informational session will begin at 7 p.m. at Fishers Junior High School, 13257 Cumberland Road.

The city of Fishers is managing the $124 million construction project, which aims to reduce congestion on the heavily traveled stretch of highway between Interstate 69 and 146th Street.

Hamilton County and Fishers each are contributing $12 million to the project, and the Indiana Department of Transportation is providing the balance. A future phase would extend the improvements north through Noblesville.

Topics to be covered at the meeting include the following:
  •     A general update on the current status of the project,
  •     When residents can expect to see construction and detours,
  •     Any impact construction may have on traffic in neighborhoods, and
  •     Details about survey and environmental work that will be performed on private property.
After the short presentation, city staff and the project team will answer questions from residents.

Officials briefed business owners on the project at a similar meeting last month, and Fishers posts ongoing status updates on its website. Details from the mobility study that prompted the work is available on the Hamilton County Highway Department site.

Residents and businesses not located directly only the State Road 37 corridor that are seeking additional information about the project can always visit www.Fishers.in.us/SR37 for ongoing status updates.
