Bring the little ones to explore nature! Learn about a specific nature topic and then head outside to explore the subject in the park. Dress for the weather – we will try to go out every month! Give your children the love of nature.

What is a Naturalist?
Many of the people you see working at the Cool Creek Nature Center are naturalists. What do naturalists do? Can you be a naturalist as a preschooler? Wear your hiking shoes to follow in our naturalists’ footsteps.

Deer in December
The deer become easier to see during the winter at Cool Creek Park. Why is that? What are they doing? Bundle up and we’ll look for signs of them.

While winter may not be as colorful or musical as the other seasons, it does have a magical beauty unlike the others. We’ll take a hike and find works of natural art that you can make into your own masterpiece.

Some of the animals that call Cool Creek Park home have interesting or amusing ways to court their chosen partner. We’ll learn about their acts of love and then go on a winter walk searching for them.
