On April 8, 2024, Hamilton County will experience its first total solar eclipse in 819 years! We welcome members of the Indiana Astronomical Society for an evening of solar enlightenment and out-of-this world observations. The evening will begin with an indoor presentation about the 2024 solar eclipse, including what a solar eclipse is and how to view it safely. The outdoor portion of the program will take place immediately after the indoor presentation and is weather dependent. The program is geared towards beginners who want to learn how to use telescopes to observe celestial objects. Feel free to bring your own telescopes, snacks, and lawn chairs. The presentation will be held before stargazing, rain or shine. Hope to see you there!

Date: Saturday, October 7

Time: 7:30 – 10:00 pm
