[ARCHIVED] Election Workers Desperately Needed for Primary Election

Upcoming Election

Teens & School Teachers Encouraged to Apply for Paid Positions

Many of the volunteers who work the polls on Election Day are unable to do so this year because they fall into the high-risk category for COVID-19. County Clerk Kathy Williams says the paid positions are ideal for teenagers and schoolteachers who will be out of school by the June 2nd Primary Election.

“If you’re out of school and would like to help us we’d love to have you,” Williams says. “A lot of the seniors who typically fill these roles just can’t do it this year, so we’re hoping the younger generation will step forward and fulfill their civic duty.”

Williams says she needs at least 100 workers – possibly more if the Indiana Election Commission should decide the election will be conducted entirely through absentee ballots. All Hoosiers now have the option of voting by mail in the primary election. To request an absentee ballot, go to https://www.hamiltoncounty.in.gov/220/How-To-Vote-Early-or-Absentee

Those who are interested in working the election, can use the links below to obtain a Poll Worker form. The Student Poll Worker form requires a signature from a principal if you are under 18 years of age, but that signature is being waived this year.
