Draft ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan is Available for Review

Hamilton County is conducting a self-evaluation of all County-owned facilities and programs for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  Title II of the ADA requires that each of the County’s services, programs, and activities be readily accessible and usable by individuals with disabilities. 

Copies of the draft Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan are available for public review at the following locations during normal business hours between January 14 and January 31, 2022.

  • Hamilton County East Public Library Branches (1 Library Plaza, Noblesville, IN 46060 and 5 Municipal Drive, Fishers, IN 46038) Available upon request at the Circulation Desk.
  • Online at https://www.hamiltoncounty.in.gov/355/Safety-and-Risk-Management

Public comments may be dropped off in writing or mailed to Steven Rushforth, ADA Coordinator, 1 Hamilton County Square, Suite 308, Noblesville, IN 46060) during normal business hours or provided via email (Steven.Rushforth@hamiltoncounty.in.gov). Comments will be accepted until 4pm, January 31, 2022.

In addition, the County has scheduled a meeting to solicit public input and comment on the Transition Plan. It will consist of a short presentation to provide information on the Transition Plan, followed by open discussion and interaction with attendees.  This will be an opportunity for the community to ask questions as well as provide suggestions and comments on the draft Plan.  All comments will be reviewed, considered and included in the appendix of the final document.  The meeting will be held at 3:30pm on Monday, January 24, 2022 in the Commissioners Courtroom at the Judicial Center (1 Hamilton County Square, Noblesville, IN 46060). 

Hamilton County complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Upon request, the County will provide written materials in appropriate alternative formats, or disability-related modification or accommodation, including auxiliary aids or services, to enable individuals with disabilities to participate in public input.  Requests including your name, mailing address, phone number and brief description of the requested accommodation may be submitted at least three (3) business days prior to the close of the comment period to the ADA Coordinator at (317) 770-1976.
