River Road Park dedicated to honor Andrew “Terry” Prather

Prather Park, formerly River Road Park

River Road Park dedicated to honor Andrew “Terry” Prather

River Road Park was officially renamed Prather Park, in honor of Hamilton County Parks and Recreation’s past Parks Board president, Anrew “Terry” Prather.  The dedication ceremony and park sign unveiling took place on September 9th, and was attended by Terry and his wife Donna, their family, parks board and staff members, and good friends.

During his 37-year tenure with Hamilton County Parks, most of them as the parks board president, Terry authorized a wide variety of large-scale park projects that have greatly benefitted the Hamilton County community.  Terry played a key role in the acquisition and development of the stately Coxhall Gardens, as well as the county’s largest park – Strawtown Koteewi Park.   His ties to River Road Park run deep.   He was directly involved in the development of the 65-acre park and construction of its athletic fields, which to this day continue to serve the Carmel Dad’s Club youth leagues.

Please join us in thanking Terry for all he has accomplished in support of Hamilton County Parks and our Hamilton County community!  And the next time you are driving on River Road in Carmel, stop in and enjoy PRATHER PARK, with its engaging amenities and trails, and all the natural beauty and wildlife the park has to offer.

Terry would like that.
