Fred Glynn was elected to the Hamilton County Council in 2014. He represents District 1 which includes nearly all of Carmel and the western edge of Fishers.
Glynn graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a bachelor's degree in aviation business. Following 9-11, he opened an insurance agency and now works as a Mortgage Loan Officer.
Glynn was tapped by the Carmel Young Republicans as an up and coming politician when he moved to Carmel in 2002. He was the Hamilton County Coordinator for a gubernatorial campaign in 2012. When a seat opened on the County Council, Glynn was ready to run for an elected office himself. As a County Councilor, he has been instrumental in balancing the County budget and has been an advocate for parks, public safety, and County road improvements.
Glynn and his wife Beth have one daughter. Glynn is active in numerous charity organizations including Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, Prevail of Central Indiana, and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. He is also an active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. In his spare time, Glynn enjoys running, lifting weights, hiking, fine dining, travel, and photography.
